The Top Five Books to Become the Best Salesman and Marketer

Here are the top five books to help you learn how to sell yourself, your goods, or services effectively and learn how to market and present yourself well in this competitive economy. We’ve read through all of these (and more!) to figure out what will be the most helpful for you. Read these books and you’ll be ready to present to even Mark Cuban on ABC’s Shark Tank.

  • (1)  Zig Ziglar’s, "Secrets of Closing the Sale" : Zig Ziglar’s book presents sales techniques and strategies that will help you present yourself better and close a deal. It helps you learn how to build a close relationship with clients, customers, dealing with rejections and objections, as well as various different closing techniques.

  • (2) "Robert Cialdini’s “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion":  Cialdini’s book teaches us about the science and psychology underlying the skill of persuasion and how to utilize it correctly to influence others’ decisions in a way that affects you positively. Some subjects it explores in-depth include the power of authority, developing social proof, and utilizing the principle of scarcity.

  • (3) Matthew Dixon and Brent Adamson, "The Challenger Sale": This book discusses different sales skills and strategies in-depth and how to challenge customers in the right way to influence them and close deals. Gitomer goes in-depth into techniques such as prospecting, qualifying and analyzing leads, closing, as well as building strong rapport with clients and customers.

  • (5) Allan Dib, "The 1-Page Marketing Plan": Dib teaches us how to develop a simple and effective sales and marketing plan which can fit on just one page. You’ll learn how to go about finding your target clients and customers, separate yourself from the pack when it comes to presenting yourself by developing a strong and unique marketing message.
